Many
in our own community cope with the daily
challenge of maintaining their very lives in the
face of HIV/AIDS. This disease and the
side effects of medication for the disease can
prevent adequate nutritional intake which
quickly leads to the loss of total body weight
and lean body mass, malnutrition, reduced immune
function and finally, the invasion of
potentially fatal opportunistic infections.
Its victims struggle with the challenge despite
sickness and the financial choice between
critical medication and food.
In
October 1998, Moveable Feast Lexington, Inc was
created by a small group of caring and dedicated
individuals to meet the nutritional needs of these
sufferers. With very little public funding,
through the generosity of our faith based
communities and individuals like you, Moveable Feast
is now into it's ninth year of preparing and
delivering hot, nutritional meals to men,
women and children who continue to struggle with
this disease as well as individuals who are in
Hospice Care due to any terminal illness.
